Our History
Warne Baby Fold was founded in 1919 as a department of the Clara Swain Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Gimson. It continued to be a part of the hospital till 1921. In 1925 due to the lack of space and facilities, a building was erected under the supervision of Miss. Bacon. The Baby Fold was named in honor of Bishop F.W. Warne, a missionary, who spent a major part of his life in serving our people.
The institution is basically for orphans and poor children of the community who have no place and family to live. We have a lot of children who are orphans, needy, down trodden and under-privileged and this project is helping them to have education, proper living, and a hope to grow them as a part of community. The home is engaged in catering orphans and giving them a homely atmosphere and settling them in married life after job and studies. This project trains them to become professionals and also help them to become independent in their lives.
